Keep in mind that many of these questions can be answered with 'Because I said so', but I like to provide more reasons why.
Well, this RPG will take place on a message board, where we can post the story, galleries, and even general or story-related discussions. Posting for your character will be much like writing a story for them, however, you can only write for your own character; how he or see observes their world, what they think, feel and say. This is the principle of roleplaying - much like your own life, you don't KNOW what others experience, and how they think, react - only you can effect your own reality. It's the same here.
You will be given the link to the forum once your character has been approved.
There's usually two ways we do this; within the flow and operation of the RPG, time passes with each post. If we feel, as a group, that it would be time to go to the next day or speed up the time of the RPG, then it'll be done. The other way is if the GM needs to speed things along, she will do so, and the roleplay will continue.
Our money is called Gil, named for a guy named 'Gilbert' from FF4, the ruler of Damcyan (although in the English version it was Edward, the "Spoony Bard"). The approximate amounts of each little item won't be concentrated on, but more likely the larger amounts will be discussed in case of bribery, tolls, or whatnot. Just keep in mind that everyone has a limited amount, and there will be times where someone will run out of Gil - it only makes sense.

Well, plumbing exists cause it doesn't require electricity, and it's very early stages stuff. Everything but electricity and flight mechanisms, so oil lamps, candles, the loom, spectacles, pulleys, ink and parchment, books, stuff like that.
However in the larger cities where the ancient technology exists, there are hover devices, some objects are automated such as gates, even teleporters. Photographers are rarely seen, but it exists, however it can cost a pretty penny gil.
You absolutely may! Just make a note of it in your character's bio, and we'll talk about it! Be prepared with a name, location, and description of the town you'd like to add.
