Powerful beings of flight, the Wind Drakes - or Dragons - live in solitude far from the major populace. The only thing that exceeds their power is their incredibly docile nature, unless of course, there is immediate danger in the area. They can be of any colour and elemental alignment, and some are even in use among humans in some areas, with less of a populace.
The greatest of Wind Drakes is the Scielan known as Bahamut, the King of all Dragons. The Wind Drake species is the only one known to have the ability to consciously be able to summon him.
Wind Drakes, when they surpass the age of 4000, develop another set of wings, and are usually addressed as a 'Hiryuu'. This Dragon rules in Bahamut's absence.
A subspecies of Wind Drake, very small with a longer body, are called Wyverns, and are closely associated with the Dragoon class.
Although the origins of this clan are unknown since the Common Era began, sightings of true demons are incredibly rare. Believed to be monsters who achieved a similar state of Sanction, they have increased speed, strength and magic, and are much larger with a humanoid shape - however they have no individual language or high intelligence.
The most common race of the world, humes are basically humans (look down - you're human). Humes are the most diverse people in regards to appearance, culture, and intelligence, they account for 50% of the population. First thought of as weak and unimportant, only dominate the planet in regards to numbers, and not power. Despite this, their curiosity and thirst for knowledge has lead to the discovery of ancient technology, learning how it operates, and creating more of the same, thus furthering the rest of the world.
Humes can become any class, yet would not excel at any class the others would. A Jack/Jill-of-all-trades type, standing out in the way of their versatility. Balanced in abilities, moderate intelligence, and high skills in other areas, this combination of traits has played a generous role in the development in new technology.
Many Humes have a natural attraction to power, more than any other race - this may be what is accountable for the rising trouble lately in the world.

The Viera are distinguished by their tall, slender bodies, long ears (yes, like a rabbit), silver hair, tanned skin, and unusual clawed hands and feet. Their heightened sense of sight, a Viera can spot something from 10km away; their sense of hearing is so acute they can distinguish one footfall from another - not only that, but they're incredibly fast on their feet, and have incredible accuracy. A Viera stays young for a very long time, and have a lifespan three times that of an average hume's, and choose to wear rather revealing clothing. It is uncommon for a Viera to have a name that is more than four letters long, and the letters 'j' and 'y' have unusual pronunciation in comparison to the rest of the world.
After the disappearance of the Ancients, the Viera secluded themselves within the safety of The Wood, and have avoided any political contact with the rest of the world. In this time, the Viera have grown and bonded with their home in the Wood, and see themselves as a vital part of it - as a biological component of it - and the Wood has thrived since her children returned those years ago. Due to their almost symbiotic connection with their home, the Viera can speak to it, and protect it, and know precisely what's going on with it at any time.
The Viera, of all the races, are most sensitive to the planetary Mist, and can sense the churning of it outside the Wood's borders - some believe that it's their duty as those who can sense it the most to seek it out and do something about it - even though leaving home would subject that Viera to criticism and contempt and the muting of the Green Word from their ears. The recent decades have seen the most Viera seen in the regular populace for the first time in centuries.
The Viera are exclusively Thief, Ninja, Archer/Sniper, White Mage, Black Mage, Conjurer/Summoner, Blue Mage, Geomancer, Red Mage and Alchemist.
Note: And no, I don't know how baby Viera are made; however there does seem to be a family/sister system, so all of this is up to speculation.

The Elvaan are characterized by their athletic bodies, and long, flattened triangular ears which stick out. In contrast to their more common look-alikes, the Elvaan are more talented with melee/warrior-type classes and swordsmanship, and not magic at all. They have a strict code of conduct, and have a sort of rivalry with the Humes. Elvaan soldiers are more common in law enforcement and Kingdom guards, and seem less interested in monetary gain than other races.
The Elvaan carry with them at all times an unshakable pride and faith in their beliefs, which can be seen in their faces. The Elvaan have increased strength and agility, and have quite a wit on them. Intelligence and mind are poor with the Elvaan, which make them poorly suited for Mist jobs - in fact, it's very rare to see an Elvaan with that sort of class.
The Elvaan are exclusively Warrior, Monk/ Master, Samurai, Dragoon, Blue Mage, Geomancer, Paladin, Dark Knight, Trainer and Alchemist.

Once believed to live on the Floating Continent and closely tied with the Eclessia, Aegyl in this age are known to live in the mountains surrounding Alteyr in three settlements: the tallest peak belong to the Wind Drakes, and she subsequent smaller ones are inhabited by these graceful people, in the 'wings' of the mountains. They inhabit the ruins of their ancestors, having made by incredible stonemasonry and skill, no new buildings are needed.
Aegyl are identical to Humes except for the large wings on their back, are coloured red to brown, and are used to fly any distance; however, this puts an incredible strain on their bodies it shortens their lifespan to a maximum of 40 years if one flies on a daily basis. Once believed to have numbers one third that of the Viera, however their devotion to their reclusive traditions, it is hard to say. Their clothing, armor and accessories are specially made to be tough but light to be resistant to wind damage, and also not to weigh them down.
All Aegyl share the ability to summon the Yahri through Auracite, however whenever the Auracite is used, part of their anima - or soul - is taken away. Eventually, that anima which is taken away is tainted and turns into a monster, which then attacks the Aegyl, thus forcing them to summon more Yahri to defend themselves - costing them more anima. This vicious cycle is repeated until all of their anima is gone and in the end, turns all who summon them into cold, emotionless people they are now. Some say that the Aegyl once summoned side by side with all peoples of Bel'serea, but there are none who practice that anymore - Summoning to the Aegyl only come in the form of Yahri - shadowed apparitions made to resemble the Scielan.
The Aegyl are exclusively; Samurai, Dragoon, Paladin, Trainer, and Conjurer/Summoner. 90% of all Aegyl belong to the Dragoon class.

The Gria is a dragon-like race, with dragon wings, tail and horn. In battle, the Gria are proficient with physical combat rather than magic, and their ability to fly gives them the advantage in high terrain. They have only four known jobs: the Bastard, Archer/Sniper, Geomancer and Raptor.
New definitions to these jobs will be approached as we get characters for them (for example: Bastard and Raptor)

Incredibly cute yet highly intelligent, Moogles are known around the world as being one of the main races of Bel'serea. Moogles have soft hair covering their bodies, bat wings capable of flight, and pom-poms of varying colours atop their heads. Moogles also have large ears, and usually measure 80 - 120 cm tall. Moogles inhabit nearly every city on the planet, and because of similar lifestyles, can live with humes (and others) and can learn their languages quicker than any child could (however, they can never eliminate the 'kupo' from the end of their sentences!). Due to their dextrous hands, they can easily tinker with complicated machinery, most engineers can be found near Nyalsha and with various engineering and treasure hunting groups.
Moogles are employed in varying jobs such as mechanic, Chocobo stable-hand, and mail-mog. There is a small group of Moogles that have been rumored to wield mist and become any class they choose to - a sight which is becoming more and more common to see in the last 100 years.

The Chocobo, an iconic animal of Bel'serea, at full adulthood are nearly twice as tall as the average hume and can be found in many colours and breeds. A cross between an ostrich and a chicken, they can be used for travel, farming, racing and even battle situations. Chocobo have no language capability like the Moogle, however they're known for their infamous 'Kweh' call. Their powerful legs and high speeds is what makes Chocobo so useful in everyday society; travellers for their ability to outrun monsters and powering boats, farming for their strength and endurance, racing for their speeds and battle for overall strength. Chocobo eat a variety of greens and nuts, and the legendary Dead Pepper - as hot as they are - have incredible effects for the chocobo that is fed one.

If you would like to play a race not mentioned here, there are 'hidden' character types over the site. Point one out, and who knows might happen^^. There are also lots of other races belonging to Final Fantasy, but they would have to be adapted to Bel'serea. Just make sure to put it all on the application!
